The Cosmovisión & Discursos Tropicales series explores systems of belief, cultural identity, and symbolic language through abstraction. Rooted in the idea of “cosmovisión”—a worldview shaped by history, spirituality, and collective memory—these works reflect the complexity of cultural narratives within a tropical context.
Through layered compositions and expressive gestures, Ramón Menocal constructs visual fields that suggest both structure and fluidity. The Discursos Tropicales works extend this exploration, introducing a more direct engagement with environment, color, and material presence, where tropicality becomes both subject and language.
Together, the series navigates the intersection of place, identity, and perception, offering a visual discourse that is at once personal and universal.
